  • During our first visit we will:

    • Complete a comprehensive review of your health history, including your family's medical history for any prior GI disorders and/or surgeries.  This will include an in depth review of current digestive health symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, elimination patterns, blood in stool, constipation, reflux, belching, bloating, weight gain, weight loss

    • Complete a thorough analysis of your diet including a review of a food diary, water and fluid intake, and supplements

    • Review of lifestyle factors such as physical activity levels, stress management practices, sleep quality, alcohol, caffeine and tobacco use

    • Perform a thorough physical examination including a detailed oral, skin and abdominal exam

  • Based on findings from your initial consultation, we may request further evaluation through a variety of diagnostic testing.

    Examples include:

    • Full blood panel for overall health such as complete blood count, electrolytes, liver, gallbladder and kidney function, nutritional markers

    • Specialized blood tests based on your symptoms such as inflammatory markers, celiac antibody testing, food sensitivity,  thyroid hormone, glucose and insulin level, and more

    • Stool analysis to evaluate gut microbiota and/or infection if indicated

    • Urea breath tests to rule out H.pylori

    • Proactive MRI scan (additional fees apply)

    • Referral for additional diagnostic procedures if indicated such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy

    • Dedicated imaging such as abdominal ultrasound, ultrasound elastography, and others

  • Once we receive all of your results, we will develop a personalized health plan that includes:

    • A thorough impression of your health status and health risk

    • A review of all of your testing results

    • Recommendations for further testing (if needed)

    • Referral to specialists (if needed)

    • An outline of recommended preventative measures, diet and lifestyle changes

    • Treatment for identified nutritional deficiencies

    • A suggested screening and follow-up schedule
